Fr Dean Marin I was born in 1953 here in Adelaide, and grew up in the suburb of Joslin. Both my parents were born in Italy, near Venice, and came to Australia as young people. Holy Name St Peter’s was our Parish at the time and I attended Mass each Sunday at the Church of the Holy Name and went to the parish school of St Joseph's Ellengowan. In year six I moved to Christian Brothers College, Wakefield Street and finished Matriculation in'70. Then it was off to St Francis Xavier’s Seminary for seven years until ordination in '77. Since then I’ve been in several parishes in the Archdiocese and have also worked as Chaplain to the YCW and the Catholic Team. Currently, I’m also the Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese. I been fortunate to have done extra studies over the years and have completed a Certificate in Biblical Spirituality. I've always loved sport and currently I keep fit by walking, swimming and gym. I can remember so vividly the day my oldest brother brought home the 45 of "I saw her standing there". I'm still crazy about the Beatles. |

Fr Michael McCaffrey FSSP I grew up in Mt Gambier, attending St Paul's Primary School and then Tension College. I was taught by the Sisters of Mercy and the Marist Brothers, and look back on my education with many grateful memories of the love and generosity of both the parish, and of the religious whom I came into contact with. When I finished Year 12 I moved to Adelaide to go to university and lived at Aquinas College. When I gratudated I worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for many years (which I loved), before I decided to discern if God was calling me to the priesthood. I had started attending the Latin Mass at St Patrick's in Grote St, and I soon fell in love with it. So I joined a community called the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, whose charism is to preserve the older liturgical forms, prior to 1962 (a.k.a. The Latin Mass, now known as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite), and was ordained in 2006 by Archbishop Wilson in Adelaide. Since ordination I have worked in Canberra and Parramatta, and for the last two and a half years here in Adelaide. In 1988 I was permitted by the Archbishop of Bombay to move over to the archdiocese of Adelaide with the acceptance of the archbishop of Adelaide.
