Release date: 05-Feb-2012 Once again this year the Lourdes Day Mass with the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is being celebrated. It’s on Saturday 11th February at 11.00am at the Cathedral and Fr Philip Marshal VG will be the main celebrant. Other priests will be con-celebrating the

Mass and helping with administering the Sacrament of the Sick.

The introduction to the Rite of Anointing reminds us, “The Letter of James states that the anointing should be given to the sick to raise them up and save them. There should be special care and concern that those who are dangerously ill due to sickness or old age receive this sacrament. A prudent or probable judgement about the seriousness of the sickness is sufficient.”

I invite those who are sick to come to the Mass and receive the Sacrament of the Anointing. I encourage parishioners to assist our sick to attend. For further details as to arrangements for Mass please contact the Diocesan Events Coordinator, John Luttrell on 82108220.

Please note that the 11.30am Mass will be cancelled on that day.

God Bless
Fr Dean
